Servius Sulpicius Galba

Galba came from a old republican family and his early career was much influenced by Livia. He came to the throne an old man and almost immediately had to appoint a successor anotehr republican aristocract Piso. Piso's appointment was unpopular and this led to Galba and Piso's overthrow within months of the old emperor's succession.
