Sestertius of Severina

Bronze sestertius, 29mm, 7.40gm, issued AD 274/275. Rome mint.

Obv: SEVERINA AVG, Diademed, draped bust facing right.

Rev: IVNO REGINA, Juno standing holding patera and sceptre, peacock at feet.

Rare.

The sestertius by the end of the third century had been much reduced and finally ceased production only a few years later.
