Rev: Tarpeia buried up to her waist in shields between two soldiers.
Flat strike on upper obverse.
In Roman mythology Tarpeia, the daughter of a roman commander, betrayed the city to the Sabines. As punishment she was crushed to death and thrown over what was later known as the Tarpeian Rock.
