Silver denarius, 18mm, 2.79gm, issued AD 115. Rome mint.

Obv: IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TRP COS VI PP, Laureate, drapery on far shoulder bust facing right.

Rev: DIVVS PATER TRAIAN, Trajan Senior seated on curule chair, holding patera and sceptre.

Trajan's father, M. Ulpius Traianus was a legate during the Jewish War under Vespasian and later made consul. He was deified by his son in AD 113.
