Decimus Junius Brutus was the cousin of Marcus Junius Brutus and a legate and friend of Caesar's during the Gallic War. Regardless of his close association he joined the conspiracy to assassinate Caesar, and may have been the intended recipient of the "Et tu Brute" quote.
