A collection of a portrait coin of each of the "Twelve Caesars", a collection of imperial biographies by Suetonius of the first twelve rulers of Rome. Namely: - Julius Caesar (49 - 44 BC) - Augustus (31 BC - AD 14) - Tiberius (AD 14 - 37) - Caligula (AD 37 - 41) - Claudius (AD 41 - 54) - Nero (AD 54 - 68) - Galba (AD 68 - 69) - Otho (AD 69) - Vitellius (AD 69) - Vespasian (AD 69 - 79) - Titus (AD 79 - 81) - Domitian (AD 81 - 96) The portrait coins of Julius Caesar and Caligula are particularly scarce and sought after, as well as the first three emperor of AD 69: Galba, Otho and Vitellius as they only ruled a matter of months each. This collection is the most popular aim for collecting Roman coins which makes any of the portraits coins of these emperors much sought-after.
