River God Reverses

Reverse types honouring various river gods on Roman Imperial Coins, such as Danuvius (by Trajan), Nilus (by Hadrian), Tiber (by Antoninus Pius and Marcus Aurelius), Rhine (under Postumus) and Euphrates (issued by Constantine for Hannibalianus). Usually the river god is depicting reclining and is named on the reverse legend.
