Augustus (AD 350-353)Magnentius revolted against Constans in AD 350. He received tentative recognition from the eastern emperor Constantius II who, as Constans brother, was really preparing himself for revenge. In 353 the armies met and Constantius II was the victor. Magnentius was killed. His wife, Justina, later married the future emperor Valentinian
