Trebonianus Gallus

C. Vibius Trebonianus Gallus

Dynasty: Family of Decius

Augustus (AD 251-253)

Gallus was appointed Governor of Moesia by Decius and the troops proclaimed him emperor after Decius and his son died in battle. Gallus raised Decius younger son to be his colleague and kept Decius' widow Herennia as Augusta (Gallus' own wife Baebiana was never made Augusta). After Hostilian died of the plague, Gallus raised his own son Volusian to be his colleague, but both were killed by the usurper Aemilian
