Flavius Valerius Constantius

Augustus (AD 305-306)

Constantius was appointed Caesar under Maximianus in AD 293 and he married Maximianus' step-daughter Theodora. When the emperors retired in AD 305, Constantius and his colleague Galerius became Augusti. Constantius went to Britain to defend it from Pictish invaders and died there, in Eboracum (York) in AD 306
