Flavius Claudius Constantinus
Dynasty: Family of Constantine
Augustus (AD 337-340)Constantine II was the eldest surviving son of Constantine and Fausta. As a youngster he was made Caesar quite earlier, and when Constantine died, in AD 337, he divided the empire between his three sons, and some of his nephews. However, the army immediately murdered Constantine II's cousins, declaring only the sons of Constantine could rule. Constantine II looked after the West and reigned as Augustus for three years. In AD 340 after a disagreement with his brother Constans, he invaded his territory. Constans successfully fought him off, and Constantine II died in battle
