C. Pescennius Niger Justus
Usurper (AD 193-194)
Rival of Septimius Severus for the Empire, Niger was governor of Syria when Pertinax was murdered. Severus arrived at Rome first and was acclaimed Emperor by the Senate. Severus then marched East to defeat Niger in AD 194
