Augustus (AD 474-491)Married to Ariadne the daughter of Leo I, and, with his infant son Leo II, succeeded him as Emperor. His tempestuous relationship with his mother-in-law Verina forced several rebellions and when his young son died he continued to reign alone until AD 491 when he died
